He has performed more than 1250 procedures and has treated over 1000 cases of bone and soft tissue tumours. His areas of special interest include pain-free and accurate needle biopsies, limb salvage techniques that remove the tumour while preserving a functional limb, and the treatment of pathological fractures and spinal cord compression caused by metastatic cancer.
- He makes use of advanced technologies such as surgical navigation and 3D printing in orthopaedic oncology, which help in precise tumour resection and in planning custom reconstructions. These tools are particularly valuable for complex tumours of the pelvis, spine and around major joints.
- Dr. Parikh is the current Chairperson of the Under-40 Sarcoma Surgeons group of the International Society of Limb Salvage. He is an active participant in the Bombay Orthopaedic Society and serves as its Webmaster. He has authored more than 25 publications, is an editorial board member of several journals, and is a Founder-Member of the non-profit Sarcoma Education Foundation, which helps train young orthopaedic oncologists.
