Breast cancer surgery today ranges from breast-conserving surgery to mastectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy or axillary dissection, while gynaecologic oncology surgery addresses cancers of the ovary, uterus and cervix. She has a strong interest in minimally invasive surgery, which can reduce pain, blood loss and recovery time for suitable cancer patients.
She is academically active and has presented at national conferences, including a video on laparoscopic radical nephrectomy at NATCON 2018 FMAS, a video on robotic distal pancreaticosplenectomy at NATCON 2022 and a paper on androgen receptor expression in HER2/neu breast cancer molecular signatures at ICC 2023, the latter two in award-winning categories. She also presented a poster on Ogilvie's syndrome at the Karnataka state chapter conference in 2011.
Dr. Jyothi works closely with multidisciplinary tumour teams to deliver patient-centred cancer care and holds memberships including ASI, FMAS and SSO. She consults in English, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada.
