He has completed his MBBS from Kamineni Medical College in 2001, DMO from Osmania Medical College in 2007, MS (Surgery) from Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences in 2013, and training in Robotic Oncology from Roswell Park Cancer Institute (USA) and ATLAS in 2016, along with the FIAGES, FMAS, FICRS, FALS (Oncology) and FSRS (USA) fellowships.
Dr. Kolli completed his internship at Osmania Medical College and a clinical clerkship at John Dempsey Hospital in the USA early in his career. He has more than 12 years of experience as a Registrar and Consultant in government and private hospitals, including eight years as Associate Consultant in the Department of Surgical Oncology at Apollo Cancer Institute, before joining Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City.
His special interest is robotic and minimally invasive oncosurgery. He performs robotic, laparoscopic and open surgeries for the thyroid, abdomen, stomach, intestines, pancreas and uterus, as well as removal of skin lumps and swellings, breast oncoplastic surgery and all pelvic surgeries. Robotic surgery provides magnified 3D vision and wristed instruments, allowing precise cancer removal through small incisions with less pain, less blood loss and faster recovery.
He holds two Guinness World Records: one for the largest number of breast and cervical cancer screenings in a single day (2016), and another for the largest number of people trained and screened in a single day for oral hygiene and oral cancers (2018). He has published case studies on complications of thyroidectomy in 100 cases and on laparoscopic versus robotic hysterectomy in 50 cases.
Dr. Kolli is a life member of the Indian Medical Association, Association of Surgeons of India, International College of Robotic Surgeons and Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons, and a member of SAGES (USA), the Advanced and Innovative Robotic Surgeons of India and the European Association for Telesurgery. He is known for compassionate patient care and consults in English, Hindi and Telugu.
