  • At Max Hospital, Patparganj, he heads GI and HPB surgical oncology, managing cancers of the oesophagus, stomach, liver, bile ducts, gallbladder, pancreas, colon and rectum. His practice spans open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, including complex procedures such as pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple surgery), liver resections and colorectal cancer surgery.
  • He received the ACRSI Travel Grant for a travelling fellowship in colorectal surgery at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, UK, the Indo-American Cancer Association John N Kapoor Travelling Fellowship for training at City of Hope Cancer Centre, Los Angeles, USA (2016), and the Astellas International Travelling Fellowship of the Indian Society for Organ Transplantation (2014).
  • His academic work has won numerous honours, including the Gold Medal in the FACRSI examination, Best Abstract for his paper on laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (IASG 2007), first prize for a randomised trial on biliary decompression after laparoscopic CBD exploration (IASG 2011), Best Poster at the International Association of Pancreatology conference (2011), and the Mohan Lal Nayyar Award for Best Junior Resident at MAMC (2004).
  • Dr. Mangla is a member of the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, the Association of Surgeons of India, the Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology, the Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India, the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons and the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation, and has served as Program Coordinator of the Delhi Gastrointestinal Surgeon's Club.
