- His international fellowship in advanced vascular and skull base neurosurgery at Fujita Health University in Nagoya, Japan, exposed him to high-volume microsurgical techniques for complex lesions at the base of the brain. This training underpins his special interest in pituitary tumour and endoscopic skull base surgery, where tumours are removed through the nose using an endoscope without external incisions, and in surgery for vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma), where the aim is complete tumour removal while preserving facial nerve function and hearing wherever possible.
- Dr. Bhide also manages paediatric neurosurgical conditions including brain tumours and hydrocephalus, and handles neurotrauma and neurosurgical emergencies such as head injury, intracranial haemorrhage and haemorrhagic stroke. His work further includes repair of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks with endoscopic skull base reconstruction, and the surgical management of spinal tumours.
- He has contributed to the neurosurgical literature with research papers in the Asian Journal of Neurosurgery on the management strategies of cranial encephaloceles (2019) and on paediatric isolated cortical (ectopic) anaplastic ependymoma (2017), and received the Best Paper Award at the Annual Conference of the Bombay Neurosciences Association (2017). He is a member of the Neurological Society of India and the Bombay Neurosciences Association.
