- Dr. Kumar was a gold medallist in ENT during MBBS and in MS (General Surgery). He has published on spinal cord stimulation, vagal nerve stimulation for intractable epilepsy, trigeminal neuralgia radiosurgery and other topics, and participated in the international STICH trial. He is a member of the Walter E Dandy Neurosurgical Society, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Neurological Society of India, the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, the Association of Spine Surgeons of India and the North American Spine Society.
