- He also completed a sports injury fellowship at the Sports Injury Centre, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, and is trained in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery of the knee and shoulder for sports injuries such as ligament tears, meniscal injuries and shoulder instability. His areas of expertise include hip and knee joint replacement, knee and shoulder arthroscopy and complex trauma surgery.
- Dr. Karkhur has a strong interest in academic research and has more than 15 PubMed-indexed peer-reviewed papers in national and international journals. In 2016 he received the Young Ambassador Award of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA), representing India at the APOA Congress in Melbourne, Australia.
- He is regularly invited as faculty, having been part of the organising team of the 1st Smart Knee and Hip Conclave at Max Saket (2017), lectured on reduction techniques at the Delhi Orthopaedic Association Basic Trauma Course (2017) and served on the executive committee of the inaugural APOA Young Surgeons' Forum, India Chapter, in Mumbai (2018). He is a life member of ISKSAA, the Indian Orthopaedic Association and the Delhi Orthopaedic Association, and an associate member of APOA.
