He has presented papers at national and international conferences and received the Linda Edwards Memorial Award (2009, Beijing) and the Roche GSK Award (2005, Istanbul).
- Dr. Sharma is Chairman of the Arthritis Foundation of India Trust and a member of the Indian Orthopaedic Association, International Osteoporosis Foundation, Arthroplasty Foundation of India and Indian Medical Association.
