Rainbow Children's Hospital and BirthRight by Rainbow, Health City, Visakhapatnam is a 200-bed paediatric, women's and perinatal care hospital in the Health City medical cluster at Chinagadili. It opened in 2020 and is part of Rainbow Children's Hospitals, the paediatric and perinatal hospital network founded in 1999.
The hospital runs an integrated perinatal care centre that combines a Level 4 NICU with 40 beds, a fully equipped Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and a Maternal Intensive Care Unit, so that high-risk mothers and critically ill newborns are cared for under one roof. Neonatal consultants, intensivists and paediatric super-specialists are available on site round the clock.
Paediatric super-speciality services include paediatric neurology, gastroenterology and liver disease, haematology-oncology with a bone marrow transplant unit, paediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery, nephrology and kidney transplant, pulmonology, orthopaedics, ENT and airway, neurosurgery, paediatric surgery and laparoscopy, plastic and craniomaxillofacial surgery, genetics and metabolic medicine, endocrinology and developmental and behavioural paediatrics.
Critical care technology includes conventional and advanced ventilation with high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) and inhaled nitric oxide therapy, Tecotherm Neo total-body servo-controlled cooling for neonatal hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy, point-of-care ultrasound, functional echocardiography and total parenteral nutrition support.
Through BirthRight by Rainbow, the hospital offers fetal medicine, high-risk pregnancy care, painless delivery, VBAC, gynaecological endoscopic surgery and urogynaecology, along with fertility treatment including IVF, ICSI, IMSI, IUI, frozen embryo transfer and cryopreservation. The Rainbow group runs a dedicated international patient desk for overseas families.

The 200-bed hospital has a 40-bed Level 4 NICU, a fully equipped PICU and a Maternal Intensive Care Unit within an integrated perinatal care centre, supported by a co-located Kangaroo Mother Care ward.
PICU ventilators support both conventional and advanced modes, including HFOV and inhaled nitric oxide. The NICU has Tecotherm Neo servo-controlled therapeutic hypothermia, point-of-care ultrasound and functional echocardiography, and the hospital has radiology, a bone marrow transplant unit and 24x7 ambulance transport staffed by consultants and nurses.
