ABOUT HOSPITAL
HCG Malnad Hospital & Institute of Oncology (MHIO) is a 55-bed NABH-accredited cancer centre established in 2003 through a collaboration between HCG, medical professionals and philanthropists. It is part of HealthCare Global Enterprises (HCG), a Bengaluru-headquartered network that is among India's largest providers of comprehensive cancer care.
It was the first comprehensive cancer centre in Shivamogga district and the first dedicated cancer centre in the Malnad region, serving patients from Shivamogga, Chikmagalur, Davangere, Chitradurga, Haveri and Karwar.
The institute has fully equipped departments of radiation, surgical and medical oncology, with sub-speciality services in gynaecologic, uro, gastrointestinal, thoracic and paediatric oncology, and a multidisciplinary team including pain management and onco-pathology experts.
The centre runs cancer awareness and detection camps, offers financial aid through the HCG Foundation and a free food programme, and is empanelled under Ayushman Arogya Karnataka and several state employee schemes.

ABOUT INFRASTRUCTURE
The 55-bed centre includes patient wards, operation theatres, an ICU, BMT wards, a day care chemotherapy unit, a blood bank and an emergency room.
