No. Once your Britam pre-authorization is approved, your hospital bills for covered treatment are settled directly between the hospital and Britam Insurance. Non-covered expenses (such as accommodation outside the hospital, food for attendants, or items beyond your policy) may be paid by you separately.

Q2. How long does the insurance approval take?

Typically 3–7 working days from the time we submit the complete estimate and medical case to Britam Insurance. Urgent cases (oncology, cardiac, transplant) can often be expedited. We follow up daily with Britam to keep the process moving.

Q3. Which countries does Britam cover for international treatment?

Britam serves policyholders in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Malawi, Mozambique and South Sudan. International treatment benefits depend on your specific policy — we verify eligibility before submission.

Q4. What if my treatment estimate exceeds my policy limit?

We share the full estimate transparently with you. If the cost exceeds your Britam policy limit, the balance can be paid by you directly to the hospital. We always work to keep treatment within your insurance limit by selecting cost-effective hospitals and treatment options.

Q5. Can I bring family members with me?

Yes. We arrange the medical visa invitation letter for the patient and up to two accompanying attendants (typically a spouse, parent or adult child). Additional family members can also be accommodated on request.

Q6. Does Satyug Healthcare charge any fee from the patient?

No. Our medical opinion, coordination, airport pickup, hospital assistance and case management services are completely free for Britam Insurance patients. We are paid a coordination fee directly by our partner hospitals.
