He has particular expertise in complex facial trauma and reconstruction, having performed more than 200 open reduction and internal fixation procedures for facio-maxillo-mandibular fractures using miniplates and screws. He also performs loco-regional flaps, scalp reconstruction and reconstruction of the lip, eyelid, nose and ear after trauma or tumour excision.
His practice includes tendon reconstruction and transfers, nerve repair, post-burn contracture release with resurfacing and grafting, burn and wound management, gynaecomastia surgery and CO2 laser scar management. He has trained in cleft lip and palate surgery, including secondary cleft deformities, and in hypospadias repair.
Dr. Mannan has published on lower lip and angle reconstruction, early enteral feeding in acute pancreatitis and rectal neuroendocrine tumours, and has presented at APSICON 2024, ASACON 2023 and ASICON 2019, including work on facial reanimation with a dynamic sling. He is fluent in several Indian languages, which helps him communicate easily with patients from different regions.
