📖 What is a Buttock Lift / Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)?

These are two different operations for the buttocks. A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) adds volume and a rounder shape using your own fat. Fat is taken by liposuction from the tummy, waist, back or thighs, cleaned, and injected into the buttocks. The waist also becomes slimmer, so the curve between waist and hips improves. No implant is used.

A buttock lift (lower body lift) removes loose, sagging skin and fat from the upper buttocks and lifts the remaining tissue. It is mostly for people with loose skin after major weight loss and leaves a scar hidden in the underwear line. Some patients need both – a lift with fat grafting (auto-augmentation). Your surgeon will advise which one suits your body. Modern safe BBL places fat only under the skin, above the muscle, ideally with ultrasound guidance, which greatly reduces the rare risk of fat entering large veins.
