📖 What is a Buttock Lift / Brazilian Butt Lift?

With age, pregnancy or large weight loss (for example after bariatric surgery), the skin of the buttocks can become loose and the buttocks may look flat or sag. Some people also simply want a fuller, rounder shape. Two different operations treat these concerns, so it is important to choose the right one with your surgeon.

A buttock lift removes a band of loose skin and fat through a cut placed low on the back, just above the buttocks, and tightens the remaining tissue. It is best for sagging skin. A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) uses liposuction to take fat from areas such as the abdomen, waist, back or thighs, purifies it, and injects it into the buttocks to add volume and shape. For safety, fat is injected only into the layer just under the skin (subcutaneous), never into the muscle. Up to 60–80% of transferred fat survives long term.
