His practice spans aesthetic surgery of the face and breast, microvascular surgery and head and neck oncoplastic reconstruction after cancer surgery.
- He also has a deep interest in paediatric plastic surgery, including cleft lip and palate repair, hypospadias correction and microtia (ear) reconstruction, along with maxillofacial and upper limb trauma surgery, burn reconstruction and hand surgery. - Dr. Rai is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of numerous professional bodies, including the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India, the Indian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the International Society of Burn Injury and the Breast Reconstructive Association of India. He has more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals and has contributed chapters to textbooks.
