Know More About Procedure & Surgery
Otoplasty (Ear Reshaping) Surgery in India
Day-care correction of protruding, prominent or uneven ears for children over 5 years and adults, done by experienced plastic surgeons at accredited Indian hospitals – with natural results and a hidden scar, at a fraction of Western prices.
📖 What is Otoplasty?
The outer ear is made of a thin, flexible cartilage covered with skin. In some people the ear sticks out more than usual because a natural fold (the antihelical fold) did not form, or the bowl of the ear (concha) is too deep. Prominent ears affect about 1 in 20 people. They cause no hearing problem, but children are often teased, and many adults feel self-conscious.
Otoplasty (also called ear pinning or ear reshaping) reshapes the ear cartilage and sets the ears closer to the head. The cut is made in the natural crease behind the ear, so the scar is hidden. Permanent stitches create a new fold and, if needed, the deep bowl is reduced. Both ears are usually done in the same operation so they match.
