Dr. Kandula is active in clinical research and has been a co-investigator on the SURMOUNT-1 trial and the Gemelli M study at CARE Hospitals, Hyderabad. His publications include a poster on the clinical and metabolic profile of type 2 diabetes patients on SGLT2 inhibitors at the ADA 84th Scientific Sessions, a poster on denosumab for refractory hypercalcaemia due to vitamin D toxicity at the 14th ISBMR conference, work on non-thyroidal illness syndrome, a case report on refractory seizures in hypoparathyroidism (ESICON 2017; IJEM 2017) and a study on obesity and metabolic syndrome among medical students.
He has also authored book chapters on diabetes in the young in 'Beyond Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus' (Jaypee) and on endocrinopathies and other types of diabetes in the RSSDI Textbook of Diabetes. He is a member of the Endocrine Society of India (ESI), RSSDI and the Indian Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ISBMR), and consults in English, Hindi and Telugu.
