In adults she manages diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders, endocrine hypertension, PCOD, osteoporosis, hypogonadism, and adrenal and pituitary diseases, as well as gestational diabetes and thyroid disorders in pregnancy. Her special interests include diabetes mellitus, neuroendocrinology, metabolic syndrome and obesity, and thyroid disease.
She has particular expertise in hormonal problems affecting children, including short stature and growth disorders, early or delayed puberty, childhood diabetes and thyroid disease, childhood obesity, calcium, vitamin D and bone mineral disorders such as rickets, congenital adrenal hyperplasia and disorders of sexual development. Early recognition and treatment of these conditions can make a significant difference to a child's growth and long-term health.
Dr. Tickoo was awarded the President's NBEMS Gold Medal in DrNB Endocrinology, secured All India Rank 25 in the NBE super-speciality entrance examination, and won a national-level poster prize at Endo Update 2019. Her research includes publications in the Journal of the Association of Physicians of India, Journal of the Endocrine Society and Journal of Bone and Mineral Research on topics such as ectopic ACTH syndrome and drug-induced hyperprolactinaemia. She is a member of the Endocrine Society of India and consults in Hindi, English, Telugu and Kashmiri.
