His clinical practice covers diabetes and its complications, thyroid disorders including thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer, obesity, osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases, growth problems in children and adolescents, hirsutism and other hormonal imbalances. He places emphasis on modern evidence-based treatments for obesity and on helping patients control blood sugar through medication, lifestyle change and regular monitoring.
Dr. Boddula has co-authored research published in the Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism, Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, Indian Journal of Medical Research, National Medical Journal of India and Public Health Nutrition, on topics including 5-alpha reductase deficiency, prevalence of type 2 diabetes and hypertension in urban Indians and iodine deficiency disorders.
He received the Vaidya Ratna Award from the Suman Art Foundation in 2015, and is a life member of the Endocrine Society of India and a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the US Endocrine Society. He consults in English, Hindi and Telugu.
