His clinical interests are neurointerventions, gastrointestinal interventions and body interventions. Interventional radiology uses imaging such as fluoroscopy, ultrasound and CT to guide catheters and needles through tiny incisions, allowing conditions such as bleeding, vascular blockages, aneurysms, tumours and abscesses to be treated without open surgery. This typically means less pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery for patients.
Dr. Santhosh Reddy K is academically active. His fellowship thesis examined the role of interventional radiology in the management of symptomatic acute portomesenteric thrombosis, and his MD thesis studied MRI in the evaluation of avascular necrosis of the femoral head, published in the Indian Journal of Mednodent and Allied Sciences in 2017. He has also published a case report on a retroperitoneal primary yolk sac tumour in an adult male in the Indian Journal of Case Reports (2017).
He regularly presents posters and papers at IRIA and ISVIR conferences, teaches postgraduate students and is a Life Member of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA). His achievements include multiple state-level IRIA quiz prizes, top ranks in national entrance examinations and a distinction in Anatomy during MBBS.
