Dr. Joshi trained as a resident at IPGME&R and SSKM Hospital, Kolkata, Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital and St Stephen's Hospital, New Delhi, and worked as Senior Resident in Neuroradiology at AIIMS, New Delhi before completing her DM in Neuroradiology at PGIMER, Chandigarh. She then served as Assistant Professor of Radiology at Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar and, from 2018 to 2026, as Senior Consultant in Interventional and Neuroradiology and In-charge of Interventional Radiology at Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva, Kerala.
Her neurointerventional work includes cerebral angiography, mechanical thrombectomy for acute stroke, carotid artery stenting, embolisation of intracranial aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations, dural sinus stenting and treatment of complex lesions such as Vein of Galen malformation and spinal vascular malformations. These catheter-based procedures are performed through a small puncture in an artery, avoiding open brain surgery in many patients.
Beyond the brain, she performs peripheral angioplasty and stenting, catheter-directed thrombolysis, laser ablation of varicose veins, IVC filter placement, prostatic artery and varicocele embolisation, dialysis access procedures, percutaneous nephrostomy, bronchial artery embolisation, TIPS, chemoembolisation for liver cancer, biliary drainage, uterine fibroid and postpartum haemorrhage embolisation, image-guided biopsies, tumour ablation, vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty, and pain interventions.
Dr. Joshi is an executive committee member of the Indian Society of Neuroradiology (2024-25), Vice President of the ISVIR Kerala Chapter (2025-2026) and a member of IRIA, STNI, ISVIR, ISNR and IMA. She won the iVascular grant in 2021, completed an observership at Hospital Clinic de Barcelona, Spain, reviews for journals including CVIR, Neuroradiology and AJNR, and has published several case reports and presented at state, national and international conferences.
