Dr. Macha Prashanthi has spent close to two decades shaping specialist obstetric and gynaecological care in Northern Telangana. In 2009, she became the region's first female full-time General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, a role in which she built a reputation for combining surgical precision with an approachable, patient-first manner. In 2015, she founded Prashanthi Hospital as the first dedicated Level III mother-and-neonatal care facility in Telangana outside Hyderabad, filling a critical gap in high-risk obstetric and newborn care for families across the region. That hospital has since become the Rainbow Warangal branch, extending its legacy of specialised maternal and child care under the Rainbow Children's Hospital network.
Her clinical practice today spans the full range of obstetric and gynaecological care, from routine antenatal check-ups and normal deliveries to complex, high-risk pregnancies and advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery. She is particularly known for her minimally invasive surgical approach, helping patients recover faster and with less discomfort than traditional open surgery allows, and for her thorough, unhurried consultations that help women make informed decisions about their reproductive health at every stage of life. As the founder of what is now the Rainbow Warangal branch, she continues to lead a team dedicated to safe, compassionate maternal and child care for the wider community.
