He initiated the Robotic Surgery Programme at P. D. Hinduja Hospital, where he served as Lead of the Robotic Department, and was instrumental in starting the Robotic Urology Programme at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital.
- He is one of the few urologists in India to perform ultrasound-guided transrectal and transperineal prostate biopsy, and is highly experienced in MR fusion biopsy of the prostate, which improves detection of clinically significant prostate cancer. His interests also include Greenlight LASER prostate surgery for benign prostatic enlargement.
- Dr. Nagaonkar received the H. S. Bhat Gold Medal from the Diplomate National Board in 2002-2003. He is a postgraduate teacher for D.N.B., a lecturer at the Australian Surgical College and a researcher affiliated with IIT Powai, with over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and media.
