- During his residency he was awarded travelling fellowships by the Urological Society of India to Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and B. P. Koirala Institute of Medical Sciences, Nepal, and he received the Dr. H. S. Bhat Gold Medal for his performance in the urology board certification examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations. He then completed a fellowship in Endourology and Uro-Oncology at Asklepios Klinik Barmbek, Hamburg under Prof. Andreas Gross, followed by intensive training in laparoscopic and robotic urology at IRCAD, Strasbourg and ORSI, Belgium.
- His areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery for kidney and ureteric stones such as RIRS and Mini PCNL, laser prostatectomy for benign prostatic enlargement, and laparoscopic and robotic procedures for benign and malignant disorders of the urogenital system. He is one of the few urologists in Mumbai who performs retroperitoneoscopic surgery, an approach that reaches the kidney and adrenal gland from behind without entering the abdominal cavity.
- Dr. Modi also manages urological cancers of the kidney, bladder and prostate as well as andrological conditions. His training across leading Indian and European centres allows him to offer patients smaller incisions, less pain and faster recovery wherever a minimally invasive option is suitable.
