EPS+ RFA {Electrophysiology Study (EPS) & Radiofrequency Ablation} in India

What is an EPS heart study?
An Electrophysiology Study (EPS) is a medical procedure that evaluates the electrical activity of the heart to diagnose and treat arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats).

🖼️ Understand It in Pictures

💡 In simple words
Some people have an extra or faulty electrical pathway in the heart that causes sudden fast heartbeats. An electrophysiology study (EPS) finds the faulty spot using thin wires, and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) uses heat to switch it off, without open surgery.

What Is an Arrhythmia?

Cardiac arrhythmia is a condition. In which the electrical impulses in the heart doesn't workproperly, whether palpitations, fluttering or skipping a beat, irregular, too fast or too slow heart beats.

How is an EPS study performed?
The doctor insert the Catheter or wire into the patient heart through femoral artery or femoral vein(a region of the thigh)  and then wire electrodes which measure electrical activity or electrical signals from different parts of the heart.

catheters are inserted and gently passed up until they reach your heart. An X-ray machine guides the catheters to your heart.

An electrophysiology study (EP study) is a detailed analysis of the electrical activity in your hear
