He uses advanced tools such as intravascular lithotripsy, orbital atherectomy and intracoronary imaging with OCT, IVUS and FFR to optimise angioplasty results, and performs peripheral vascular interventions, coil embolisation and procedures with percutaneous haemodynamic support.
- In structural heart disease, Dr. Polamuri performs balloon mitral valvotomy, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and other valve interventions, MitraClip, alcohol septal ablation, left atrial appendage closure and device closures. He is a certified TAVR operator for Medtronic and Meril Life Sciences, and his practice also covers preventive cardiology, heart failure management and critical care cardiology.
- He is Principal Investigator for the AZURE-OUTCOMES trial and Co-Principal Investigator for the Librexia ACS and GENESIS-II trials, and serves as a peer reviewer for the Indian Journal of Clinical Cardiology. He has published case reports and a book chapter on topics ranging from sinus of Valsalva aneurysm and quadricuspid aortic valve to anticoagulation in COVID-19, received the Vaidhya Sree and Vaidhya Ratna awards in 2019, and is a member of the Cardiological Society of India and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
