Dr. Peddi gained over six years of clinical experience at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, one of India's leading cancer centres. After his internship at Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Hyderabad (2018-2019), he trained as a Junior Resident (2020-2023) and Senior Resident (2023-2025) in Radiation Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, and then completed a Proton Therapy Fellowship at Tata Memorial Centre (2025-2026). He was also involved in teaching and organising academic courses at the Tata Memorial Centre.
His special interests are liver and pancreatic cancers and complex thoracic, abdominal and pelvic malignancies. He has expertise in motion management, which accounts for the movement of tumours with breathing so that radiation can be delivered accurately, as well as precision and adaptive radiotherapy, re-irradiation and organ-sparing techniques that reduce damage to nearby healthy organs.
He offers the full range of modern radiotherapy, including 3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), SBRT and SRS, MR-guided radiotherapy on the MR-Linac, proton therapy evaluation, and image-guided brachytherapy for gynaecological, rectal, head and neck and soft-tissue cancers. He treats breast, gastrointestinal, thoracic, head and neck, genitourinary, central nervous system, haematological, paediatric and sarcoma cancers, provides palliative radiotherapy for symptom relief, and treats selected benign conditions such as recurrent keloids, heterotopic ossification and trigeminal neuralgia.
His research includes quality-improvement work on timely MRI-based brachytherapy for rectal cancer patients on a watch-and-wait approach, published in the Journal of Contemporary Brachytherapy (2025) and presented at ESTRO 2024, and a matched-pair analysis of neoadjuvant chemotherapy versus chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced pancreatic cancer presented at ASTRO 2024. He developed a standard operating procedure for rectal brachytherapy planning, and has academic work on radiotherapy planning for hepatocellular carcinoma.
Dr. Peddi is a member of the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India and the Gastrointestinal Oncological Society. He follows an evidence-based, multidisciplinary and patient-centred approach, aiming for the best tumour control with minimal treatment toxicity, and consults in Telugu, Hindi and English.
