He has completed his MD (Radiation Oncology) from Medical College, Jabalpur in 2009, Fellowship in High Precision Radiation Treatments from YCI, Hyderabad in 2010, SBRT training in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2016, Advanced Management Program in Healthcare from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad in 2017 and the ESTRO Comprehensive Brachytherapy course in Athens, Greece in 2024.
Dr. Jotwani began his career as a Senior Research Fellow at AIIMS, New Delhi in 2005 and later trained as a Fellow in Advanced Radiotherapy at Yashoda Hospitals. He has since worked at KIMS Cancer Centre, Yashoda Hospital, Continental Hospitals, Medicover Oncology Institute and CARE Hospitals in Hyderabad, and was the co-founder and Chief Oncologist of Onco Cancer Care from 2017 to 2024. Over his career he has treated more than 10,000 patients with cancer and benign conditions using radiotherapy.
His clinical expertise covers brain and spine tumours, head and neck cancers, thoracic and gastrointestinal malignancies and recurrent cancers. He has international training in high-precision techniques such as adaptive radiotherapy, SABR, SRS, IGRT, VMAT, IMRT and image-guided brachytherapy, and has delivered more than 750 SRS/SRT treatments. These techniques focus high doses of radiation precisely on the tumour while sparing surrounding healthy tissue, which is particularly valuable for tumours close to critical structures.
He also treats benign brain conditions such as meningioma, arteriovenous malformations and vestibular schwannoma with radiosurgery, and is one of the few experts in India offering low-dose radiotherapy for painful musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow and tendinopathies.
Dr. Jotwani has authored many publications, including work on VMAT-based hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy for intracranial AVMs, fractionated SRS for spinal cord haemangioblastoma, DIBH technique for SABR of lung and liver tumours, prostate IGRT, online second opinions in oncology and the impact of COVID-19 on cancer care in India. He has presented at the ASCO Quality Care Symposium, ASTRO and AROICON.
His honours include the ASCO Merit Award at the Breakthrough Innovation in Oncology Summit (2019), The Times of India Rising Star in Oncology (2016) and recognition among Outlook Best Doctors for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in Oncology (2024, 2025, 2026). He is a life member of AROI and a member of ASTRO, ESTRO, ESMO, ASCO and MASCC.
