D. Hinduja Hospital, Mahim and Khar, in 2022.
  • Over his career he has cared for more than 12 lakh patients. His treatment experience spans chemotherapy for over 5,00,000 patients, metronomic chemotherapy for over 1,50,000 patients, targeted therapies for over 1,00,000 patients and immunotherapy for over 10,000 patients. He is among the early adopters of CAR T-cell therapy in India and is involved in patient selection, administration and follow-up. His practice also covers bone marrow transplantation, haematological malignancies and blood disorders alongside all solid tumours.
  • Dr. Patil has played a key role in developing metronomic and affordable treatment approaches, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, geriatric oncology and precision medicine, and has been active in national and international clinical trials. He has authored more than 777 peer-reviewed publications in journals including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, The Lancet Global Health, Oral Oncology, Cancer and Cancer Cell, with landmark work on weekly versus three-weekly cisplatin chemoradiation and nimotuzumab in head and neck cancer.
  • His honours include the Centre of Excellence Award for Cell and Gene Therapy (2024), the Shri Vijay Batra Research Foundation Award (2022), the ICON Geeta Rameshchandra Gandhi Oration (2022), the ISMPO Kala Venkat Award (2016), the Best of ASCO India Award (2014), the ASCO IDEA Award (2014), the ACORD Fellowship, Australia (2012) and ESMO Asia Travel Grants. He has delivered oral presentations at the ASCO Annual Meeting in 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024.
