She has a large body of clinical research, with studies and case reports on NBUVB phototherapy compliance in vitiligo, dexamethasone-cyclophosphamide pulse therapy in pemphigus, biochemical markers in psoriasis, cutaneous manifestations of HIV in relation to CD4 count, facial dermatoses during the COVID-19 pandemic, and rare genetic skin disorders such as Kindler syndrome and Dowling-Degos disease. Her aesthetic research includes triple therapy for keloids and PRP for facial rejuvenation.
Dr. Nikhat is a life member of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) and has conducted a national dermatology quiz contest. She consults in English, Hindi, Telugu and Urdu.
