- His clinical interests span the breadth of neurology, including stroke, headaches, epilepsy, dementia, multiple sclerosis and neuro-immunological disorders, Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, neuromuscular disorders and infections of the central nervous system. He also offers Botox therapy for conditions such as spasticity, dystonia and chronic migraine.
- Dr. Hassan has many publications in peer-reviewed journals, including several on stroke. He was a co-investigator in the InveST trial on stem cells in stroke, co-authored an international guideline on Hirayama disease, and serves as a journal reviewer. He has been an invited speaker on Hirayama disease at Fudan University, Shanghai and the European University of Rome, Italy (2018), and served on the Education Committee and as invited faculty at the World Stroke Congress 2016.
- His honours include the TIMES Healthcare Achiever's Award (2018), the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Medal (2014) for exemplary service and Commandant's Appreciations (2009 and 2014). He is a life member of the Neurological Society of India, and a member of the Indian Academy of Neurology, the Indian Stroke Association, where he has served as Regional Coordinator, and the Association of Physicians of India.
