- Her special interests include cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses and the medical, laser and surgical management of glaucoma, including trabeculectomy, glaucoma drainage tubes and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). She also manages medical retina conditions and performs ophthalmic laser procedures as part of comprehensive eye care.
- Dr. Sindhu established a National Surgical Skill Development Centre at the R. P. Centre, AIIMS, the first of its kind in India, and has more than 30 international and national publications. She has conducted workshops on glaucoma visual fields and gonioscopy, presented papers at DOS and AIOS meetings, and performed live surgery on small incision cataract surgery (SICS) in 2004.
- Her honours include the H. S. Trehan Trophy for the best clinical case presentation at the Delhi Ophthalmological Society in 2018 and the Best Group Award during her MD in 1992. She is a life member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences and a member of the All India Ophthalmological Society, the Delhi Ophthalmological Society and the Indian Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.
