On the diagnostic side he performs bronchoalveolar lavage, endobronchial and transbronchial biopsy, cryobiopsy, linear and radial EBUS-guided sampling, navigational bronchoscopy for peripheral lung nodules and diagnostic medical thoracoscopy.
- His therapeutic work includes airway foreign body removal, endobronchial tumour removal, tracheobronchial stenting and dilatation, bronchial thermoplasty for severe asthma, bronchoscopic thermal vapour ablation for emphysema, whole lung lavage for pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, airway fistula closure, thoracoscopic adhesiolysis and pleurodesis, and indwelling pleural catheter placement. These minimally invasive techniques allow many airway and pleural problems to be diagnosed and treated without open chest surgery.
- He also looks after children with respiratory problems, performing paediatric bronchoscopy and airway foreign body removal and managing congenital airway disorders, chronic lung disease of prematurity and paediatric sleep-breathing disorders. In addition, he treats asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, central and obstructive sleep apnoea, and provides advanced critical respiratory care and lung cancer diagnostics.
