- Dr. Surveen Ghumman Sindhu spent more than two decades in academic medicine before moving into dedicated IVF practice. She served as Senior Specialist at University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Delhi (2002-2005) and as Senior Consultant at Safdarjung Hospital and Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Delhi (2005-2013), teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students for MD, DGO and DNB courses. In 2013 she was Senior Consultant and Vice President (Operations, Training and Research) at Southend Fertility IVF, Vasant Vihar, before joining Max Healthcare as Director and Senior Consultant IVF at Max Panchsheel and Patparganj.
- Her clinical interests cover low egg reserve, IVF and reproductive endocrinology, donor and surrogacy programmes, recurrent IVF failure and recurrent miscarriage, fertility preservation through egg freezing, and male infertility including azoospermia. She also has a strong focus on embryology and quality control in the IVF laboratory, which directly influences embryo quality and pregnancy rates. Couples with poor ovarian reserve or repeated failed cycles are often referred to her for individualised stimulation and laboratory planning.
- Dr. Sindhu is a prolific author. She has written nine books, three of them published internationally, including Step by Step Ovulation Induction (UK, 2006, also translated into Persian) and Tubouterine Factors in Infertility (UK, 2007), and she edited Principles and Practice of Controlled Ovarian Stimulation (Springer, 2016) and ART and Viral Infections (2021). She has 78 publications in journals and books and over 100 articles on infertility.
- Her work has been recognised with the Icon of the Year - IVF Specialist award at the IMT Summit (2020), the Satya Paul IOG Award (2019), the Economic Times Best IVF Specialist (National) award (2019), repeated Excellent Service awards from the Delhi Medical Association and the national YUVA FOGSI Award (2004). She has also won best paper and research awards at patient safety, NARCHI, IFS and RCOG North Zone conferences.
- She has held several leadership roles in professional bodies, including Treasurer (2020-22) and Editor (2018-20) of the Indian Fertility Society, Chairperson of the AOGD Infertility Committee and Reproductive Endocrinology Committee, and Executive Member of the FOGSI Midlife Management Committee. She is a member of ISAR, INSTAR, the Fertility Preservation Society of India, the Indian Menopausal Society and the Manipal Association of Clinical Embryologists.
