From 2021 to 2026 she was Consultant Medical Geneticist and Metabolic Specialist and paediatric postgraduate faculty at Rainbow Children's Hospital, Hyderabad, before joining Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City.
- Her clinical work covers paediatric genetic disorders and syndromes, inborn errors of metabolism and storage disorders, and the long-term management of genetic conditions. She provides antenatal, periconception and consanguineous-couple counselling, and evaluates recurrent pregnancy loss, infertility and fetal genetic disorders, including guidance on pre-implantation genetic testing. She also sees adults with inherited conditions such as genetic causes of stroke, neurodegenerative disorders and polycystic kidney disease, and offers cancer genetics, preventive genetics and genetic evaluation of short stature and obesity, with structured pre-test and post-test counselling.
- Dr. Bailur has published widely, including work on familial acute necrotising encephalopathy and digenic inheritance in the Journal of Child Neurology (2020), multiple gene variants in autism spectrum disorders (2019), next-generation sequencing in musculoskeletal disorders (2022), De Barsy progeroid syndrome in Ophthalmic Genetics (2022), PMM2-CDG cases from India (2025) and ophthalmic manifestations of Cousin syndrome in the Journal of AAPOS (2025). She has presented on lysosomal storage disorders, Pitt-Hopkins syndrome, mitochondrial disease, Joubert syndrome, isovaleric acidaemia and glutaric aciduria at national meetings.
- She has won poster prizes at the CMC Vellore IAMG Conference and the ISIEM Conference in Jaipur, received a grant for an ISIEM conference and has been an invited national and international speaker and conference organiser. She is a member of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and the Indian Society of Inborn Errors of Metabolism, and consults in English, Telugu and Hindi.
