She was also Consultant in Fetal Medicine at Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research before returning to the Apollo Centre for Fetal Medicine in 2016.
- Her work covers first trimester screening, detailed fetal anomaly scans, fetal echocardiography support, Doppler assessment of fetal growth restriction and preeclampsia, management of twin and monochorionic pregnancies, and counselling of families after an abnormal scan or screening result.
- Dr. Sharma has published on fetal nasal bone length reference values (Prenatal Diagnosis, 2013), amniotic fluid index in healthy Indian pregnancies (International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, 2013), fetal Doppler in preeclampsia and growth restriction, and first trimester diagnosis of sirenomelia, and wrote a chapter on monochorionic twins in the FOGSI ultrasound textbook. She won the international first prize for a poster at the 8th ISUOG International Symposium (2012), is Treasurer of the Fetal Medicine Foundation India and a member of the Society of Fetal Medicine, and consults in English, Hindi, Konkani and Marathi.
