She completed her MBBS from Patna Medical College Patna in 1994, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Patna Medical College Patna in 1999 and DM- Medical Genetics from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute Of Medical Sciences Lucknow in 2004.
She has been working in field of genetics and fetal medicine for last 13 years including four and half years in the Department of Genetic Medicine, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.
She has been actively involved in the diagnosis, genetic counseling and management of various genetic disorders.
She has counselled about 50000 patients referred to her with various common and rare genetic disorders. She is among the pioneers in establishing the field of clinical genetics in India
Her special area of interest is prenatal diagnosis of various genetic and non-genetic disorders of all streams of medicine i.e. Neurology, Hematology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Pediatrics.
