- His special clinical interests include Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), cirrhosis and liver cancer. He manages the full spectrum of acute and chronic liver disease, from viral hepatitis and alcohol-related liver injury to advanced cirrhosis with its complications, and works closely with the liver transplant team in the evaluation and care of patients with end-stage liver disease.
- Dr. Madan has an active academic record with more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He was awarded the Dr. Sudhir Rehan Gold Medal in Medicine in 1997 and the Dr. Rakesh Tandon Book Prize for the Best Outgoing DM (Gastroenterology) Student in 2003.
- He served as Secretary General of the Indian National Association for the Study of the Liver (INASL) from 2018 to 2021 and is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, the Liver Transplant Society of India and the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation.
