- His practice spans both diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine. He has large experience in treating thyroid cancer and neuroendocrine tumours with targeted radionuclide therapies, in which radioactive agents are delivered directly to cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue.
- He is a former President of the Association of Nuclear Medicine Physicians of India and a member of the editorial board of the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine. He has written multiple research papers in national and international journals as well as textbook chapters, and is an examiner in nuclear medicine for Bombay University and the DNB.
- Among his honours are the S. Seth Endowment Lecture at the University of Bombay in 1994 on Brain SPECT and the IMA oration on Nuclear Medicine at Nagpur in 2002. He is a member of API, IMA, CSI, SNMI, EANM, SNMMI (USA), the American College of Nuclear Medicine and the American Thyroid Association, and is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences.
