She was awarded a fellowship to present a paper at the Japanese National Congress in 1999 and has taken part in drug trials and community studies.
- Dr. Samant has served as Associate Joint Secretary of the Indian Rheumatism Association and as a referee for the Journal of the Association of Physicians of India and the Journal of the Indian Rheumatism Association. She is a life member of the Association of Physicians of India, Indian Rheumatology Association, Critical Care Society of India, Indian Medical Association and Infectious Disease Society of India.
