He has a special interest in stroke treatment and vascular malformations, particularly cerebral dural arteriovenous fistulas, complex intracranial aneurysms and endovascular management of cerebral venous thrombosis.
- His procedures include mechanical thrombectomy and thrombolysis for acute ischaemic stroke, coiling, stent-assisted coiling and flow diverter placement for berry and giant aneurysms, extracranial carotid and intracranial stenting, embolisation of brain AVMs, dural AVFs, craniofacial vascular malformations and skull base tumours, paediatric neurovascular interventions and spinal procedures such as spinal AVM and DAVF embolisation, pre-operative tumour embolisation and vertebroplasty. Over seven years at Kokilaben Hospital he has performed more than 1,500 cerebral angiograms, over 300 aneurysm coilings, more than 350 carotid stentings, over 75 intracranial stentings, more than 110 stroke recanalisations and over 250 AVM, DAVF and tumour embolisations.
- He has seven publications, including a paper on heparin versus thrombolysis in dural sinus thrombosis in Interventional Neuroradiology (2006) and work on stand-alone mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischaemic stroke in Neurology India. He was involved in the national neurointervention teaching module in 2006, 2007 and 2008, and consults in English, Hindi and Marathi.
