- She has played a significant role in national health policy as Advisor to the National Health Authority of India (Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY), Co-chair of the Standard Treatment Workflow for paediatrics (a Government of India initiative through ICMR) and Advisor to the National Board of Examinations. She has served as President of the Indian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ISPGHAN) and is associated with the Commonwealth Association of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (CAPGAN).
- Her academic contribution is extensive, with more than 250 publications (over 100 international), more than 50 book chapters and presentations at more than 900 forums, over 200 of them international. She has authored several national and global guidelines on paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition.
- Dr. Mohan has received the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award from the President of India (2016), Double Helical State Awards (2016 and 2017), the Swastha Bharat Samman (2012), the Vashisht Chikitsa Ratan Award (2012), the DMA Centenary Award (2014), the Distinguished Service Award of the IMA Academy of Medical Specialties (2007), the Dr. Sadhana International Empowerment of Women Award (2010), the IAP COVID Warrior Award (2020) and the Distinguished Teacher Award from ANBAI (2021).
