- Dr. Indira is a certified evaluator for children with spinal muscular atrophy and designs exercise programmes for SMA patients, including those who have received gene therapy or are on Spinraza; she served as an approved clinical evaluator using HFMSE and RULM scales in a two-year study from 2023 to 2025. She also plans rehabilitation after surgeries such as VATS, liver transplantation, tenotomy, neurotisation, tendon transfers and neurosurgery, and provides acute paediatric care including early mobilisation, chest clearance and positioning.
- In the NICU she provides chest physiotherapy and orofacial stimulation for preterm and extremely preterm babies, and she runs pulmonary rehabilitation for cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, recurrent pneumonia and primary ciliary dyskinesia using respiratory muscle training, cough assist, physio assist and VEST therapy. Her thesis on dynamic sitting balance and upper extremity skills in spastic diplegia was published in the Indian Journal of Cerebral Palsy in 2016. She is a member of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists and consults in English, Telugu and Hindi.
